Denim Day

Denim Day is April 22, 2015, and the Mayor of Fort Wayne will make a proclamation to that effect on that date.  April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and jeans are now donned worldwide on the third Wednesday of the month to protest against injustice and rape culture.

The Fort Wayne Sexual Assault Treatment Center is supporting this cause and Michelle Ditton, RN, SANE-A and SANE-P, who is the Chief Nursing Officer of the Center, and Laurie Gray, J.D. have written a book entitled, “The ABC’s of Sexual Assault: Anatomy, “Bunk” and the Courtroom” which was just released with acknowledgments to Haller & Colvin clients who have contributed to the Center and its mission such as the Zehrs and the DeMarchis, as well as our Holly Brady, J.D. who served as legal counsel for a period of time for the Center.  One-half of the profits from the sale of the books will go to the Center.

The firm has agreed to declare Wednesday, April 22, 2015, as “Denim Day” and provide the staff a luncheon meal over the noon hour.  Michelle and Laurie will be  here to provide an explanation of the purpose and operation of the Sexual Assault Treatment Center and why these specialists are important in a courtroom.  The Haller & Colvin dress code is also changed for that day and denim can be worn to show support.
